According to the device's Kickstarter page, Game Frame is a grid of 256 LED pixels, "perfect for showcasing pixel art and old school video game graphics."
"I had the idea for Game Frame after playing an iPad app called Midway Arcade, a virtual arcade with neon game artwork hung on the wall," said Williams. "After searching fruitlessly to buy something like that in the real world, I decided to make it myself."
The device is Arduino based and will come with 40 pre-programmed animations from pixel artists eBoy. The source code for the device will be released "once shipments begin."
Williams hopes to ship the first units to backers by June 2, after FCC clearances have been approved.
