Sir, You Are Being Hunted is being Kickstarted

Sir, You Are Being Hunted has been flushed out of hiding; here’s our Sir, You Are Being Hunted review.

Sir, You Are Being Hunted is a crepuscular first-person survival stealth horror game set in a procedurally generated British countryside populated by aristocratobots — gentrified automatons — who will relentlessly hunt you for sport. So that’s definitely interesting. Doubly interesting is that Sir, You Are Being Hunted has just arrived on Kickstarter, where it is wonderfully described as “tweedpunk robo-horror”. That sound you hear is so many boxes being ticked.

Big Robot are after £40,000, with almost 200 backers currently pledging over £5,000 at the time of writing. Here’s the pitch video, which goes into some detail as to how the game works, how the bleak worldhas been created and how the well-dressed robots will behave in their unending quest to find and murder you.

A little DayZ, a little Stalker, but mostly an entirely new and uniquething, Sir, You Are Being Hunted is easily one of the most fascinating indie titles to arrive on the freshly UK-engaged Kickstarter roster.

From the project’s page:”This is primarily a challenge of brainy stealth:so flee across the countryside, hide in dense woodland, and sneak into villages to loot the haunted buildings for biscuits and shotgun shells. The approach you take in escaping the island is up to you.And do be careful: you are being hunted.”

The money raised will be pumped into art assets to form additional environmental biomes, improved hunter intelligence, more buildings, loot and NPCs and, if enough capital lands in their lap, some form of multiplayer component.
