Developer Kiss Ltd has announced that their first Kickstarter campaign, for the high-speed flying mech combat simulator Project Nimbus, has been a resounding success.

The Kickstarter campaign managed to raise almost three times more than the modest initial goal that the Thailand-based studio GameCrafterTeam was going after.

Project Nimbus is a free-fly mech action game where players control huge flying humanoid battle suits, armed to the teeth, fighting in a savage war for resources set in a post-apocalyptic world.

The flying mechs, called BattleFrames, will carry an extensive arsenal of guns, cannons, missiles, laser cannon and drones, and players will have to battle massive armies and take down colossal opponents in order to save the world.

The successful Kickstarter campaign means that Project Nimbus will see a Windows PC and a Mac version, complete with Oculus Rift support, a sandbox mode, survival mode, machinima cutsecenes and an extended story campaign.

In the near future, KISS and the GameCrafterTeam will be reviewing the Project Nimbus development schedule in order to issue an official announcement regarding a likely release date.
