Brief: Kickstarter For Mega Man Board Game Ends, Nets Huge Raise

thank-you-from-jasco

A Kickstarter campaign for an officially-licensed Mega Man board game has ended. The campaign and Lubbock, Texas-based creator Jasco Games netted $415,041 on a goal of just $70,000. Over 11,000 backers chipped into the campaign.

It is a bit of a disappointment considering over half of that total was funded in just the first couple days of the campaign. Two days in, the campaign was over $200,000 in funding. At launch, I wasn’t going to be surprised if the campaign could find $1 million in funding.

Then again, can $400,000 ever really be called disappointing?

It has been an amazing 38 days for the Jasco Games team. We have received so much overwhelming support, so many thoughtful comments, and such excellent feedback from all of our fans. We’re so excited and can’t wait for all of you to get the board game in your hands. We’ll be making updates over the next few weeks and months as progress on the board game is made.

Attention now turns to delivery, as backers have been promised an October 2014 date for their games.
