We're great fans of the webcomic Erstwhile Tales, which adapts the less popular fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. The second print volume contains the stories "Snow White & Rose Red," "Brother & Sister," "Iron Hans," "Death of the Little Hen," "Doctor Know-It-All," and "The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes." For a $15 pledge, backers can nab ebooks of both volumes, or they can pick up a print copy of Volume 2 for an $18 pledge.

Aaron de Orive (Star Wars: The Old Republic, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided) and Nebula-nominated Martha Wells (The Death of the Necromancer, Emilie and the Hollow World) have collaborated on a new, all-ages, swashbuckling adventure novel, Blade Singer:

Manuel "Manny" Boreaux, a troubled adolescent from Texas, is magically transported into the body of a goblin pickpocket in an alternate world inhabited by faerie creatures. Manny must quickly adapt to the danger all around him and try to find a way to get back home, a feat complicated by the pickpocket's association with a notorious gang of thieves. But when Manny uncovers a plot to assassinate a young king, he must enlist the aid of an elf cavalier and a cat burglar to thwart a Sidhe witch's scheme to ignite a civil war between humans and the Fae.

When the open-ended space trading video game Elite was first introduced in 1984, it came with Robert Holdstock's novella The Dark Wheel, set in the game's universe. In that same spirit, Dan Grubb is working with 18 authors to produce a series of audiobooks and print novels set in the world of Elite. They should make a nice companion to the game Elite: Dangerous, which Frontier Developments is planning to release early next year. Grubb is offering various book and ebook packs at various pledge levels.
