The closing line for Liminal Games’ Kickstarter video for the Memory of Eldurim is “There’s something powerful about a group of people that are willing to give everything without the certainty of success.” That sums up the reason Cliqist was started; to take a closer look at the people that their dreams out in the open and ask for help from strangers to make them come true.
It takes a lot of guts to ask for help on something some isn’t necessarily ready for prime time, and Memory of Eldurim is a good example. Described as an action oriented open world RPG, the game has a lot going for it, including some good looking art, a playable demo, and an ambitious feature set. However, as you can see in the video, there’s still work to be done. Being rough around the edges is something you would expect from an unfinished game, unfortunately not everyone sees it that way. The days of funding a project based on nothing but an idea are long gone, unless you’re a big name in the industry, and backers expect some solid gameplay samples and compelling graphics; and the Memory of Eldurim seems to deliver. The Kickstarter campaign for the Memory of Eldurim has a goal of $150,000, and runs until December 7th.
